Dear All.
I am a new member and a recent graduate. I would like to get some advice on  WELDING SEQUENCE PLAN. References would be great.
Thank You

It depends on the purpose like reduction of heat or distortion in austenitic stainless steel, there are multiple plans that can be executed such as step back, double welder, sequential etc.

A welding sequence plan is a structural approach to performing welds in a specific order to control heat
distribution, and esure the structural integrity of the welded components. It is commonly used in fabrication,
construction, and manufacturing industries.

The key component of a welding sequence plan:
1. Welding order: Specifies the sequence in which welds should be performed,
2. Weld Type & Process. Defines the welding method (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW etc.) and joint configurations,
3. Preheating & Post-weld Treatment: Indicates if preheating or stress-relieving procedures are needed,
4. Clamping & Fixting: Details how to hold parts in place to prevent its movement during welding,
5. Heat control & Distortion prevention: Includes techniques such as backstep welding  intermittent welding, or
    symmetrical welding,
6. Inspection & Quality: Outlines checkpoints for verifying weld quality through  visual or non destructive and
    Destructive methods.

Welding sequence plan is important to:
1. Minimises distortion: Proper sequencing distribues heat energy.
2. Prevents Warping & residual stress: Reduces internal stresses that may weaken  the structure.
3. Ensure consistency: Helps maintain welding standards and avoids defects.
4. Improves deficiency: Reduces rework and speeds up the fabrication process.
Trust it is clear.
