requirement for identification marking for plates A 283 GR C

Dear All,

 

For shell plate material of SA283 Gr. C  material identification marking has been done on the plates by two method-

 

 1) stencling   2) steel die stamping

 

Plate number is not  availaible on the die stamping but it is availaible in stencling marking.

 

Whether the plate can be accepted with the above condition.( Plate number avaialible in Stencling marking only)

 

please provide your valuable suggestions.

Hi, For A/SA283 katerial,Marking/Identification shall be as per A/SA6 - Para.18. According to that,the plates which you have received can be accepted. 18. Identification of Structural Products 18.1 Required Plate Markings: 18.1.3 Except as allowed by 18.1.4.2 and 18.6, the required markings for plates shall be by steel die stamping, paint marking, or by means of permanently affixed, colorfast, weather-resistant labels or tags. Yes it can be but if you have any doubt go for Lab Check testing.

IF THE MARKING IS DONE IN STENCLING THEN IT MEANS THAT THE MARKING IS NOT D ONE BY MANUFACTURER , THE PLATE IS OF ANY OTHER MAKE AND HE IS PROVIDING U THE MILL TEST CERTIFICATE OF OTHER COMPANY AND DOING THE MARKING BY A TRADER FOR THE TRACIBILITY

 

I DNT SUGGET U TO ACCEPT IT ,

 

AND STILL IF YOU ARE CONFUSED THEN CROSS CHECK WITH MANUFACTUER OR DO THE TESTING OF THE PLATE
