stainless steel Grade 321H Weldability

Hi all,

  In our project we have to weld Austenetic SS grade 321H full GTAW, we used ER 308 gtaw rod filler metal, one collegue say that we must use ER 347. is it true ? use ER 308 is not compatible with these grade ?

Please help me

ER 347 is compatible fillet metal for this grade

Yes You must use ER 347 filler for welding of 321 grade material.

Yes, you should use ER347, please refer API 582 (Welding Guidelines for the oild and gas industries)

for Gtaw, either ER321 Or ER347 shall be used but for SMAW only E347 is to be used because if we use E321, there will be loss of Titanium alloying loss in arc stream
