what is the permissible Long Seam Welding orientation closest distance for ERW pipe to pipe welding.

Pleas suggest permissible welding procedure with reference ASME standard.

it is recommended to use the long seam weld shall be 90 to 180 degree orientation between two pipes. it helps to restrict crack  propagation during failure.

ASME Section VIII Div.1 2017 Edition UW-8(d): Except when longitudinal joints are radiographed 4 in. (100mm) each side of each circumferentialo welded intersection, vessels made up of two or more courses shall have the centers of the welded longitudinal joints of adjacent courses staggered or separated by a distance of at least 5 times the thickness of the thicker plate.
