Hi friends,

 

How can we identify duplex and super duplex stainless steel?. Both are P10H.

What are the common elcetrodes for Duplex and super duplex?.

Hello Muhammed:
 
You can run chemical test for chromium and nickel contents DSS 2205, and SDSS 2507. the first two numbers indicate: % Cr, and the second two numbers indicate: % Ni. You can check the attachments to find answer to your questions.

simply, duplex has 22% Cr, such as Alloy 2205
          super duplex has 25%Cr, such as Alloy 2507.
 
for tube/pipe welding, I recommend GTAW + SMAW process.
GTAW:    AWS A5.9: ER2209        dia. 2.0 or 2.4mm
SMAW:   AWS A5.4: E2209-17   dia. 3.2 or 4.0mm
 
Boehler or Avesta brand is good for your reference!
