Dear Gurunath
You can grind the letters not required,
BUT – what about the certificates which are already having dual certifications. No one will accept as this is a pure falsification of the documents.
Choice is yours, but you can always refer the case to the client and seek the clarifications.
If being accepted then well and good otherwise ask the vendor to comply with yor PO specifications which supersede everything.

Carbon content is low enough to be below the maximum carbon of CF-3M but tensile properties are high enough to meet the minimum requirements of CF-8M. Therefore it can be dual certified.
Wrought corollary is 316L and 316. This is common practice and you will especially see it for 304 and 304L.

You have not mentioned to which standard/code that the valve is manufactured, however para 2.6 of ASME B 16.34 permits the multiple grades marking of more than one specification or more than one grade of a specification provided conditions satisfying the requirements of para 4.2.8, and 5.2.2 together with the pressure – temperature rating requirements of the grades are fulfilled. You can refer to this.

MANIVANNAN.
