Dear experts,

Please can you give me your advise

Can I accept a job in process (Process piping) ASME B31.3 and spec ask for welder qualification as per ASME IX and the welder is qualified as API 1104 (Pipelines)

Is there any restriction?

thanks

The first and main document should be used as a reference is a contract. If it mentioned in the contract documents, there is no problem. You will find the acceptable codes, standards, specs., procedures and any other guideline in those documents.

But generally in case of any conflict, the procedure cancels the spec, and the spec cancels the code or standard. Because the procedures have more details and adaptation compare to specs and specs also have more details and adaptation compare to codes and standards.

Regards

Dear Sir;

You should ask your client first or check the contract but usually this welder must be qualified according ASME IX.
