The pipe needs a “shoe” to prevent corrosion down the road…good luck!

It certainly is not allowed as the weld joint is getting rested on the beam rather than the pipe itself. The beam is meant to support the pipe. Further, the elevation of the beams if they are being used as a resting support, are determined by the BOP of pipe for bare pipes.The weld joint projection is not going to occur at each support. As a result , wherever, the joint is not resting , a gap shall emerge between the BOP of pipe and TOS of the beam, which may be required to be filled . Since such dimensions of such gaps are not always in perfect digits, the possibility of imperfect filling crops up . As a result more load may occur on an adjacent support of such imperfectly filled pipe.

My opinion is it is unsafe and because rain/moisture can accumulate on the beam it will lead to corrosion on the pipe.  Also, visual inspection cannot be perform 100% when doing routine inspection.
