Eqt for PWT(Automatic welding)

Hello sir,

I want to know about that how will do EQT for PWT(automatic welding).Actually,we are using here GMAW process for PWT and Electrode are using ER-80S.

Please guideline for the eqt

Electrode qualification test ? It should be given by PWT if you have given project requirements .

Since it is a solid wire, for electrode qualification test (Eqt) you can do it by following ASME section II part c

Dear Saumey , 

You have to specify your requirments to PWT to carry out the test and they will be done . They are using Hobbart for your project ?. But tell them clearly about the requirment . If client agrees you carry out the testing but as per ASME sec II part C EQT should be carried out on a plate 1G position . Your production will be J-Groove and extracting specimen for CTOD and all weld tensile will be problem. You have to run a trial in pipe with V grrove which is a pain and I did that . So better demand PWT for EQT records as per your project spec .
