Thickness of Blind Flange for Hydrotest

Dear Experts,

Please Explain me in detail about How to Calculate Thickness of Blind Flange for Hydrotest.

Note : I already read it in ASME B31.3 section 304.5.2, but still not clear.

Hello,

 

You can search for more details in ASME B16.48

 

The dimensions for blinds (thickness, inside/outside diameter, etc) are in function of #ANSI, NPS and face type of your flange

 

In section 6 of ASME B16.48, specifies that blind material shall be accordance of ASME B16.5, which means that you must consider flange material too.

Dear Raja

You should know about Design Conditions (Temperature and Pressure) for Hydrotest. So, verify rating in ASME B16.5 and with rating that you determined before in this same code you can determined thickness of your Blind flange that you need.
