SB-729 ALLOY-20 MATERIAL WELDING CONSUMABLE.

Dear All,

We r going to weld SB -729 Pipe to SA312 TP 316L Pipe.

We have to prepare new WPS . anybody can suggest me which  filler wire we have to use  for GTAW.

 

Pls reply ASAP.

SB -729  specification covers UNS N08020, UNS N08026, and UNS N08024 pipe and tube for general corrosive service.

 

Which grade  would be welded with SA 312 TP 316L??

As Mr Goswami indicated, there are 3 grades are available in SB729, but only one UNS N08020 is listed in Section IX which is also commonly designated as Carpenter20CB3. which is Pno 45. Filler metal for this similar and dissimilar is ERNiCrMo1.
