We have having WPS with impact test at -29 Deg.c for FCAW process. as per ASME SEC-IX. As per engineering  requirement Impact test required at -29Deg.c.
Now new filler wire brought having same SFA NO but different brand name from same manufacturer. Mechanical properties were same. Impact test carried out at -40 Deg.c as per MTC.
We need to qualify new PQR or Proceed with existing PQR.

Shanmuga.

According to ASME Section IX, if the new filler wire has the same SFA number but a different brand name from the same manufacturer, and the mechanical properties are the same, you might not need to requalify the PQR.

However, since the impact test was carried out at -40°C, which is more stringent than the required -29°C, and the results are satisfactory

Get approval from the Client  to use the new filler wire with the existing PQR.
