Dear All,
Please note for one of our ongoing project we have offered fasteners for our Level Gauge as ASTM A-320 Gr B8M Class 2 which is suitable for low temperature and High Pressure Rating but our customer asking these fasteners conforming to NACE MR0175 also for this application ASTM A-320 Gr B8M Class 1 is suitable but they cannot be used for high pressure rating i.e. 1500# so request suitable fasteners which will meet following service requirement:-
1. NACE MR0175 (Hardness Should be below 22 HRC).
2. Service Temperature -100 degree C.
3. Pressure Rating 100 bar.
Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Dear Manpreet,
Thanks for your mail please note ASTM A320 B8M Class 1 is low strength bolts and can be used for 150# or 300# only please refer ASME B16.5 clause 5.3.4 and also see table 1B.
A-320 B8M Class-2 are having more hardness so cannot be used for NACE MR0175 application.

Dear Mr. Singh,
Please see below :-
5.3.4 Low-Strength Bolting. Bolting materials having
no more than 206 MPa (30 ksi) specified minimum
yield strength are listed as low strength in Table 1B.
These materials and others of comparable strength are
to be used only in Class 150 and 300 flanged joints
and only with gaskets described in para. 5.4.2. Flanged
assemblies using low-strength carbon steel bolts should
not be used above 200°C (400°F) or below −29°C (−20°F).
If you see the table 1B, your will find that ASTM A-320 B8M Class-1 is low strength fasteners so can not be used for 1500# rating, hope to clarifed your doubt.
With kind regards,
Vinod Kataria
