Hardness range for CS+ Alloy0625 clad welding

Dear experts.

I am currently in the process of qualifying a PQR for API 5L X65 + A350 LF6. Both material consists of a base metal with alloy 0625 cladding. Welding process: GTAW+SMAW

During the mechanical testing, I witnessed the following hardness values:
Clad material: 300 to 390 HV
Weld metal: 280 to 350 HV

This is for Aramco project, so I referred their standard 01-SAMSS-044, and it specifies that I must refer to NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for hardness acceptance criteria, particularly for the clad.

I have reviewed the standard but cannot find a specific acceptable hardness range. I also checked Aramco's W-11/W-12 and W-16 standards but was unable to find the maximum allowable hardness for clad welding.

My question is: Are these recorded hardness values for the clad and weld metal acceptable under the NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 standard? If not, what are the typical hardness limitations and under which standard?

Dear Saurabh,
Refer Table A.12 of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, where Inconel 625 is designated as Type 4d.
Refer Table A.14. From Temp<149°C, Inconel 625 can be used for all conditions, stipulated in table. Hardness to be limited to 40 HRC max. (392 HV).

Thank you for your response.

We're facing another significant issue.

Most of our carbon steel Procedure Qualification Records covering groups G1-G2, G1-G3 & G2-G3, G3-G3 with various process combinations are showing an unacceptable hardness range (260–325 HV) in the Heat-Affected Zone.

Our maximum acceptable hardness limit is 250 HV.

We've used different testing agencies, yet the results remain consistently high.

Heat input below 2.0 Hardness achieveable, do check on your material grade & weld consumables used , i need more infro material grade & what weld process , is the any PWHT requirement?
