Dear experts,
As per technical specification of customer says that IGC practice E
for stainless steel SS 316L material shall be carried out and that
bend test specimen shall be examined at a magnification of 200X and
bent specimen shall be free of any cracks or grain dropping.
And we performed this test on coupon and at 20X appearance of fissures
or cracks not observed and IGC E is accepted as per lab report, But at
200X magnification intergranular attack(heavy carbide precepitation)
observed near outer radius of bent specimen and our client is not
accepting this carbide precepation.
So pleare share your views and is it acceptable or not.

If your customer's specification is different from the standard specifications, it should have been discussed first before accepting the order. Once an order is accepted, it becomes mandatory to follow the procedure specified by the customer. If there is difference in interpretation of test results after following the customer specification, there could be reference to a third party consultation if both sides agree.

If there is no requirement of your client you can examine at 20X.
