Hi!
As per ASME code
I) If PQR is qualified in 3G having Impact test requirement  for equipment  in such case you can qualify welder for any position based on this relevant PQR and WPS as per requirement
(For Impact test requirement  Welding position is essential for PQRi.e. 3G)
ii) If PQR is qualified for Non Impact test requirement(Even in 1G position ) in such case you require to qualify welder in any position as per requirement
Regards
Hegde P.B.

Yes it is  about WPS only
TWO condition
I) If matl required Impact ,for PQR qualification You require to consider all essential and suplimentary essential  clauses in such case you require to qualify PQR in 3G  and This PQR is eligible to make WPS for all position welding otherwise not(i.e. if the same  PQR qualified in 1G ,you are allowed to make WPS for 1G only and weld in Flat position)
Regards
Hegde

DEAR PRAKASH SIR,
QW203 SAYS WPS QUALIFY IN ANY POSITION QUALIFIES PROCEDURE FOR ALL POSITION AND QW405.2 SAYS CHANGE FROM ANY POSITION TO VERTICAL UP. VERTICAL UPHILL PROGRESSION QUALIFIES ALL POSITION. MEANS IF MY WPS IS QUALIFY FOR 1G THEN IT QUALIFIES ALL POSITION OR NOT? AND IF THERE IS PWHT OR IMPACT REQUIREMENT THEN WHAT'S THE LIMIT? PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND.
