Dear all,

We have some stacks made of galvanized steel (angles and channels, etc), on these racks various chemical including stearic and other acids are stored in polythelene + thick paper bags all as per manufacturer supplied. Over a period of 5-6 months, we are noticing formation of a whitish layer which can come off on your finger if you rub your finger against the galvanized surface. This is obviously some kind corrosion product. Also on the edges the red corrosion product of steel is visible.
We want to analyse the whitish powder chemically,to assess the type of corrosion, most possibly with atomic absorption spectroscopy (E&OE).. Which lab in Mumbai can do this kind of analysis?
Thankfully,

Dear,

In galvanized item, specially rust form called as white rust.

U can apply a special paint on it, with proper surface prepration.

Regards
