Brass versus Bronze as an Alloy for High chlorine service

Dear Sirs
In our Project, fire water valves and hydrants are generally specified as SS-316 because of their high ability to resist pitting resistance in Chlorine environment. However the client is insisting to use either Brass or Bronze as MOC for all Valves internals. Kindly guide me which is more superior Brass or Bronze in terms of its resistance to SCC, weldability and other issues
Supporting references for the above would be helpful

Hi Arunabh,

As per the fire norms NFPA-13, 4 way and hydrant valves are brass MOC. Brass valves are acceptable.
