Dear Experts,

Kindly Provide Your Valuable View on Below Queries.

1. What is Recommended Procedure / Conditions for storage of MMA electrodes, SAW Wire Spools, TIG Wires & SAW Fluxes in term of Consumable Storage Room Temperature Relative  Humidity?

2. What to do if we could not maintain the Required Consumable Storage Room Temperature and Relative Humidity

Thanks & Regards

Dear Mr. Tariq

1-you can follow ASME SEC II-part C specifications which describes the storing and handling conditions for MMA, SAW flux and wires.meanwhile manufacturers recommendations will be helpful.

2-If you could not maintain storing conditions it causes many defects during and after welding.

Regards,
Himan

Hi,

For each welding consumable brand like Esab, Hyundai, Lincoln, the manufacturer recommends for its storage conditions.

But for SMAW electrodes, U can refer ASME-II C, SFA 5.1, Table A3 for your knowledge.

For SAW flux, refer welding consumable manufacturer's catalogue for drying and holding conditions, for each type of Flux.

Hope it is ok.

Best Regards,
Sarav,

There is no specific temperature and limit for humidity, for storage, manufacturer's recommendation is to store at dry place and at room temperature, Most of consumable are supplied in sealed packs or plastic bags so they will not absorb moisture until there is damage with packing, once you open these bags for use then further caution and manufactures instruction should be followed about drying and baking or reuse.
