Starting Eclipse starts Matlab

Hi,

I've done this on a few machines now so I assume it is expected
behaviour, however it seems like it shouldn't be...

If I add matclipse from the update site, and restart Eclipse then any
time I fire up Eclipse regardless of my perspective matclipse starts a
Matlab session. Is there a way to suppress this? Shouldn't it only
open Matlab whenever I switch my perspective either by editing a .m
file, manually selecting the perspective, or opening a console view?

Whilst this is not a deal breaker on my home machine, my work laptop
is a bit slow, and having a Matlab session hanging around isn't ideal.
It makes it hard to "tinker" with matclipse when 95% of my time in
Eclipse is not to work with Matlab.

I've had a dig around the git repo and can't quite figure out how the
perspective is hooking into eclipse...

Any suggestions? Is there a setting I've overlooked?

Cheers,

Jan

Hi Jan!

So nice, you are also motivated to look into the source code! :D

the class for the perspective is
org.eclipselabs.matclipse.mconsole.internal.ui.perspectives.MatlabWorkbench

and you can find the extension definitions in the plugin.xml of the
mconsole plugin

Actually, I have not written most of the code, but I can tell you that
many things are done in the MConsolePlugin class of
org.eclipselabs.matclipse.mconsole.
