The spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, deal with the dark. Together they rid the county of witches, ghosts and boggarts. But now they have unfinished business to attend to in Priestown. Deep in the catacombs of the cathedral, lurks the spook's nemesis - the Bane, a creature he has never been able to defeat. As Thomas and his master prepare for the battle of their lives it becomes clear that the Bane isn't their only enemy in town. The Quisitor has arrived, searching the county for those who meddle with the dark - witches, warlocks and spooks! When the spook is arrested and sentenced to death, it's up to Thomas, with a little help from his old friend Alice, to rescue his master and destroy the curse of Priestown.
The spook fears that she will eventually be under the Bane's control fully and wants to stay as far away from her as possible, however that proves to be difficult since Alice and Tom became very good friends since his first adventure. Alice begins to use the Bane to help her and Tom out of binds where they could be killed. When the spook is arrested and sentenced to death it's up to Thomas, with a little help from Alice (and the Bane), to rescue his master and destroy the curse of Priestown. Eventually she begins to fear and dislike it just as much as Tom and the spook do. With the spook and Thomas helping her, she controls the Bane for just enough of a time for the spook and Thomas to devise a plan to capture or kill the Bane.
In a race against time, Thomas and Alice must face the Bane deep in the depths of the catacombs. Alice requests one more thing from the Bane when they meet it in the catacombs, and that is that he does not hurt the spook or Thomas. When Alice is its new target, Tom takes his chance and kills the Bane, freeing Priestown from its curse.
Whistling Tor is a place of secrets: a mysterious, wooded hill housing the crumbling fortress belonging to Anluan - a chieftain whose name is spoken throughout the region in tones of revulsion and bitterness. A curse lies over Anluan's family and his people, and the woods themselves hold a perilous force whose every whisper threatens doom. Then the young scribe Caitrin appears in Anluan's garden, admiring the rare plant known as heart's blood. Retained to sort through entangled family documents, Caitrin brings about unexpected changes.
Voodoo and tarot permeate the age of Caribbean piracy and the various merchant ships in the game hold six different kinds of spook cards. The green skulled cubes floating in the water are not resources but curses. Think of them as tide-turning abilities.
The bomb curse is the most effective and up-front method to kill enemies and towns. The damage it does will instantly destroy any merchant vessel, and against pirate vessels with an armor level of 0, will put them at one hit-point away from being destroyed.
The range doesn't beat its deployment versatility, which is considerable. You can place the bomb anywhere on the map (it isn't a weapon with deployment range, just limitations). In the easier challenges, you will have nothing but bomb curses and an enemy A.I. that's too dumb to spam them on your fleet.
Don't under-estimate the whirlpool curse (like using it immediately), since you can hold onto it (even if your ship sinks, your curse stays with your captain) so you can come back and wreak havoc on the opposing team.
This curse is a Flying Dutchmann thing -- your ship turns invisible until it is hit by cannon-fire. This means you can sail through enemy held waters and not be noticed. However, the invisibility is not invincibility or "tingly" undetectability. Your ship can be sunk or fired upon if it is next to an enemy unit or town.

Susan Hill's spook story, recently adapted for film with Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role, tells the story of a lawyer obsessed with a curse he believes has befallen his family.
Bodie has long been a ghost town tourist destination, and though it might reside in California, we in Northern Nevada still claim its lore as our own, since we are familiar with all things that are spooky, cursed, and rich in Old West history. Bodie encompasses all of these traits, but what has also put it on the map, is the fabled Bodie Curse.
