Idownloaded the latest version of Wavelab 8. Neither the 32 nor 64 but version allow me to play files. The cursor does not advance when I have an audio file loaded. The funny thing is that if I put plugins in the master section they respond like audio is playing. The dials register audio, but the cursor does not budge no matter where I place it!

This is certainly a problem with the audio driver (the driver tells WaveLab where the edit cursor should move).

What is your audio card? What operating system? (if you are on Windows, try MME).

Did you try updating your audio card driver?

with the new track I cannot play thr track anymore. I recorded it, edited it and it all worked fine - but now the track has a yellow outline and I cannot press the play button any longer - and as a results the stop and pause button dont react either. saving, cuttting, copying and everything else seems to work as normal

I can save the file, I an reopen it, I can save it as an mp3 and then reopen it - but the problem persists. I cannot play the file and hence i cannot edit it because i have no idea what i am editing.

thank you steve . that solved it for me

i noticed i had another window opened but that did not play or record at the time - so i thought it wont interfere

I closed it and now it works

i knew it was something minor

but i am a complete newbie and could not solve my problem via google

thanks a lot!

Why does "play sound" not work if my iPhone is offline. That defeats the purpose of using the sound to find my device. I know your device did not have to be online in ios6 to play a sound. I couldn't find a way to change this either. Seems ridiculous.

You've never been able to play a sound or do anything else for that matter from find my phone if the device is offline. It should be reasonably obvious that if a device is offline, it can't be contacted to give it any instructions.

I know I was able to play a sound when the iPad or iPhone was in sleep mode previously. It seems sleep mode is now considered "offline". Meaning if the iPad is in our house, fully charged, but asleep, it won't play a sound until someone wakes the iPad. Am I missing something?

I did not have any network issues but my problem seems to be resolved now. I had one device that had not been updated to iOS7 but is now updated -not sure if that is why I wasn't able to play a sound on a device that was asleep but everything is now working.

I should have been clearer. My device that I wanted to play a sound on using "find my iPhone" was online but asleep, however when I launched the find my iPhone app, that device appeared with an offline status. To test the app, I grabbed my wife's iPhone checked to make sure it was online, put it asleep, then opened the find my iPhone on another one of my iPads. The status of my wife's iPhone appeared as "offline" which was not accurate. That was the problem I was trying to resolve.

I have the same issue with my iPad mini. I have both an iPhone 6s, iPhone 5 and iPad mini 2. All are running up to date iOS, on the same wifi network and have the correct date and time. I regularly misplace all

l devices. If I'm looking for the phones, it's not a problem. I use Find My iPhone, locate them, play a sound and hunt them down in the house. The problem is the iPad. If it is sleeping, it will appear as "offline" in Find My iPhone. If I play a sound, nothing happens. I roam the house until I find my iPad on my own. As soon as I press the home button, the find my iPhone alert starts playing. The iPad can only be located while awake. The iPad does not have cellular data. Does the cellular network keep iPhones a tIndy bit more awake (connected to the system) when sleeping? It's almost like he phones have a secret "Wake for network access" setting and my iPad doesn't.

So right. I really didn't pay attention to the dates when I replied to the last person. As this seems to be common and has been going on for years, I'm not actively looking for a fix. I'll just wait and hope an update changes things.

My phone will not play a sound if it asleep. I have tried many times. It will never play a sound and always shows offline. I have had iPhones since 2002 and I have never been able to play a sound when it's asleep. Is there something I need to change in my settings

I bought EA Play on Steam for a variety of games, but I wasn't able to find Anthem among them.

I later realised it's an Origin game, so naturally, I linked my Accounts. But I still can't seem to be able to download the Game without buying it, or EA Play again.

Am I missing something?

Hey @EchoRaze our membership is available on each platform for $4.99, or regional equivalent. There is no cross platform subscription at this time. As such if you wish to use EA Play on different platforms then you will need an active membership on each.

Question is about how to use EA Play that was purchased on Steam through the Origin client bloatware which is a REQUIRED UTILITY that is needed in order to play Steam games that are offered as part of EA Play.

I am also finding myself unable to use EA Play because I subscribed with Steam Wallet Funds, and any game that I installed through Steam immediately crashes to desktop and loads the Origin client instead.

I've done this, and played two EA games on the machine. They show up in Origin too. The problem that I suspect the others are facing is that Origin does not seem to realise that I've already purchased EA Play (through Steam). So if I look at any game in Origin's "Browse Games" menu, I always end up at at a page trying to sell me something that I thought I'd already purchased (a year subscription to EA Play).

It's mighty confusing. When you talk about Platforms - I'm guessing you mean launchers - Origin or Steam - despite the fact that Steam EA-Play games won't launch without Origin running and being logged in. Or am I missing something here?

why is that though? Does EA even have a plan to come out with cross platform? i originally started playing sims 4 on my origin account but my computer was broken and i switched to console. now all that money that i spent on Microsoft and paid with ea access is not accessible since im back on my newly bought computer... its just a hassle and makes me so frustrated that this game that is on multiple different platforms and then has no way to share content?! so now what im expected to buy all the packs all over again its like it wasnt even a thought... game packs and expansions are expensive and the fact of the matter is i already own them why buy again. i love this game so much but im a mother i dont have funds to be blowing time and time again..

Hey @Heather_sco, as PC and console are different platforms then games purchased on one will not be playable on a different one. This is the same for all games and not something that is likely to change.

of course the game would be a little different but its been purchased so i just don't understand not being able to play the same game like you know if you buy a movie you have blu ray and the dvd but they're included together of the same movie. i guess i just dont understand.

So you can imagine the surprise I felt when recently, during a Lomilomi treatment (a healing practice from native Hawaiian healers), my friend suggested I needed more play time. He recommended a 1:2 work to play ratio for me.

Refining my work-play ratio is the perfect unfolding in my "year with less pressure." However, I know it can feel disorienting at first when you have more space and time. So just go at it slowly, and you'll find your capacity for play naturally expanding.

Clear goals, rules, and feedback. Part of the problem with cleaning up is probably that the goals are hazy, at least in our house, the floor is never entirely clear and clean. The rules are loose too. Things have approximate, not definite homes. I guess in the long term, I should aim for a more organised play-space where everything does have a home that can be easily learned. Then the play area could look progressively cleaner and then clean, with clear goals (get everything off the floor), rules (each object has a home), and feedback (progressively more visible floor). In the meantime, I might just focus on one goal at a time, such as getting all the soft toys in the soft-toy box.

I'm playing Rusty's Retirement as I type this article. This cute farming sim runs at the bottom of your screen as you go about your working day. You can plant crops, hire watering robots, harvest blueberry bushes, raise pigs, all while validating the spreadsheets from Paula in accounts. Paula! Where are the running totals!? I can't find the running t- oh, they're under the turnips. Sorry, Paula. My bad.

But can you actually play "idle games" like this while getting your work day done? Aren't they distracting and obstructive? These are important questions. I plan to find the answers by playing Rusty's Retirement while simultaneously - and dutifully - completing days of work. Let's go!
