First of all "The servers took too long to do their server thing" just shows none of you clearly know what you're doing. Second, I can't load a game and play a offline solo franchise because you're IT Infrastructure team is full of morons and tie the ACTUAL SERVICE OF THE GAME to your technical crap that is your EA launcher and not a offline game install. I'm not paying a full price for a game for you to tell me when its okay to play it.
However, nothing seems to be working on my end. I have already talked with an advisor through Live Chat about this too.
I also tried turning the EA App to offline mode, since I thought it should bypass the internet connection error (Sims 3 is an offline game anyways), but it says that my game license has expired and I need to be online to reactivate it.
I'm not sure what this problem concerns with, is it with the internet connection or my game license? The advisor I was talking to assured me that my Game License was active but why can't I play it through the offline mode?
Please help, I have an elderly woman who needs to be taken care of in my Sims 3 save. PLEASE!
@kimberlyarhuber Is your computer online or offline, and does the EA App think it's online or offline? You should see an option to go offline or online in the dropdown menu in the upper-left corner of the App window.
The EA App currently doesn't support playing in offline mode all the time. It's supposed to work, but it just doesn't. So the only fix is to establish at least a temporary internet connection, for example through your phone (using data rather than your home wifi). You can take your computer offline again after signing into the App.
Now these sorts of things may not bother people who are more casual hockey fans, I don't know. But how can such a huge part of hockey - the difficulty of moving the puck out of your zone and getting it into the opponent's zone - be basically nonexistent in this game? Its like if a football game didn't have running plays, or a baseball game only had homeruns. This game is more like basketball - getting the puck set up in the zone is a foregone conclusion, all the action takes place once you are already there. There is a total lack of action or suspense in the first 2/3rds of the ice surface when you have the puck. The game can have all the outfits, cutscenes, and storylines it wants, but the on-ice gameplay is so boring and predictable that it is not fun. Having an AI player be able to judge speed and trajectory and take a proper angle on a puck carrier doesn't seem like some crazy technological achievement either, I'm pretty sure we had the technology 30-40 years ago to do that.
Like most in this thread, I have been an annual purchaser of this game from the beginning - every year without fail. I've always ever only played offline franchise and scour many forums to read how everyone else seeks to find the most accurate simulation possible of being an NFL GM/coach/player.
I ran into this issue on PS4 this morning. Week 17 of my 3rd season in an offline franchise. Come on, EA. I'm so tired of leaving comments like these on your boards about your games. As a dad of 5-year old twins, my video game time is very limited. Over the past month+, I've devoted all of it to Madden 22. And now the limited free time I've used on your game building an escape from life's stresses during that period was for naught and wasted because of this bug.
I am unable to play madden 21 installed digitally on my PS4 without the game freezing constantly (not crashing my game, just my screen coming to a halt). It happens in offline and online gameplay, with the long freezes often pushing me out of online games. While the offline games finish, if I had to sit through the painful experience it would take hours.
Normally I'm a fan of the Mass Effect series, and I bought all the current games and DLCs for them, but recently discovered that none of the DLCs for ME3 work when I try to launch the game in offline mode. To me this is a huge rip-off since I now own a useless game (Mass Effect 3 Digital Delux and all DLC items for it), I don't have my own internet connection and I rely on public networks to download anything, this online only BS needs to stop or EA is just going to lose more customers!
The title of this topic is the problem, I paid good money for Mass Effect 3 and all its DLCs, but I can only run base game (none of the DLCs will work), EA needs to fix this by making it so single player content works properly in offline mode. I don't mind going online to activate everything, that should just a one time thing and the content works after that, but having to do that any time you try to run a game is ridiculous. I'm one of many people who don't have a steady internet connection yet still try to run games, but the online only idiocy ruins this, its going to get to the point where we won't be able to run anything if this keeps up.
When I try to run the game offline, I'm not connected to any network at all yet the game fails to activate any of the DLCs, they only get activated when I'm online with a public network, there is no one-time activation it tries to activate every time I launch the game every time.
If you say that Mass Effect 3 and all it's DLCs work in offline mode, give me step-by-step instructions that I can save to my system and use while offline (The instructions must work 100% to be usable)
I used to play ME3 offline, but after last Origin client update i have the same problem. I had to use tethering to go online and validate DLC to play, but the solution is only temporary: a few days later the same *... unable to validate DLC while offline... Congrats Origin, you lose another client.
I'm having a similar issue, but that won't really solve it. I can't access the app if my internet is down. So I can't put it in offline mod, because I can't sign in/get it load at all if I'm not connected to the internet. At the same time, my internet isn't always down and I prefer to play online for access to the gallery. So, is there a way to access the game if I'm not connected to the internet but I didn't turn on offline mod the last time I played.
Having the same issues as the above two (replies #5 and #6). I had to take a trip by bus...it gave me the "EA is offline" error rubbish. What an absolutely despicable move. I had logged in with "keep me logged in" at home before leaving and everything. This is a huge disappointment. What is the purpose in keeping people who purchase the game from being able to play if they don't have internet actively? What a disaster...I have been playing The Sims since Maxis. I am beyond disappointed.
I find the offline feature of the EA app much more frustrating and unreliable than it was with Origin. Playing offline without having to connect in order to go into offline mode is extremely important to me because, after a patch update, I wait until all the mods I use have been updated, before going online to install the patch. During this waiting period, if I cannot play without going online, then I cannot play at all until I am ready to update, because I cannot risk the game forcing me to update before I am ready to update.
Once the "go offline" mode is set, it should stay that way. The game should be able to open while the computer is disconnected from the internet, as it could with Origin. Players should not have to repeatedly go online to put it in offline mode.
Hi, thanks for the reply. This does (sort of) work; however the offline status is reset every time you restart the app. If I for example launch the game through a desktop shortcut, the EA app is then automatically opened in online mode and I have to go through the dropdown menu process to run the game in offline mode each time the game is launched. This also means that the EA client will still automatically run forced updates.
I've been doing this but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. It just keeps trying to open the EA app whenever I try to open the Sims, even though the EA app is already open and offline. I don't want to deal with the new update yet.
I am desperately trying to get my game to start without getting the face squishing update! I was playing fine the other day, then when I was at work my partner switched my graphics card and had to restart the computer. Now it either says my "licence has expired" when I try and launch offline, or that my game is corrupted and I need to repair it. I am pretty sure repairing is the same as updating it. Sometimes nothing simply happen when I click the button to launch.
Baseball Star is a baseball game where you can create your own team, sign the players you want, and participate in different world leagues. In addition, you can simulate the games' results or play them directly controlling your players. If you choose the second option, you'll have to both pitch the ball and also go up to bat.
Baseball Star is a very entertaining baseball game that you can play in season mode, simulating games and watching how your team advances, or challenge mode, jumping into the stadium yourself. Whichever option you choose, it's sure to be a good time.
Alice: Madness Returns has 100:gsicon: that is part of the 1000 that is through the free American McGee's Alice DLC. This DLC can be completed offline, but you will have to connect to Xbox Live first in order to download it.
