Contact with Explicit Time Integration

Hi all,

I am trying to solve example 6a using Central Difference Explicit Time Integration. However, I encounter the following error-

Need a system matrix

Is it possible to run simulations with contact using explicit time integration in MASTODON?

I have shared my input files.

Hi Mriganabh,

The central difference time integrator cannot be used with contact. There’s still a some work to do before it can be used with a contact model. Currently, the central difference time integrator is limited to solid elements with any material model and cannot be used with beams or shells or the contact models.
