We've had huge success with facebook ads for our motorcycle facebook page, but it's because it is such an easy group to target, we created an image "Watch for Motorcycles" that everyone clicks on.  It's exploded.  I want to have that same success for our other pages.  Do any of you run ads for your non-niche pages?  What kind of image would you personally click on, having to do with a lawyer?  What's great is that all the likes we do have are really active posters and commenters, so that's the most important thing, but I know it's much more impressive to get to a facebook page for an attorney with several thousand likes.  (At least from my personal experience)

Hmm...well, all of our Facebook ads are pretty specific. But personally, If i wasn't actively looking for a lawyer, I could see myself clicking on a lawyer image if it was funny (like playfully made fun of lawyers or the legal system), some kind of cool infographic, or a easy to enter contest. Other than that, I just don't have any reasons to want to go to a lawyer facebook page. Others may feel the same.

I usually just keep a 'get more page likes' ad going for about $1.00-2:50 per day.  I will do it for about a month at a time.  We don't have any niche pages that I push, I only push our main page.
We have about 2080 likes right now.  It basically targets the friends of the people that have liked us already.

We're actually looking at implementing Susan's approach.  Facebook is one of our top website traffic referrers, even with our limited number of fans.  We get good engagement to it (that and Ben tends to share stories with his personal page as well).

As for more specific ads, it's hard to top the engagement of the motorcyclist community (maybe cyclist would one specific target?).  Being honest, I don't think that most people not looking for a lawyer would engage with a lawyer ad unless it's really provocative.  It would have to have a "scare" headline like: You May Be Risking Financial Ruin - and have that be about not getting enough underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage.  Have it target married people over the age of 40.  Just a thought.

Also, we don't actually have any niche Facebook pages - we would have one if we did motorcycle accidents, but I'm just not sure about them outside of those really engaged communities.  What kind of engagement do you all get from your niche pages?

Our motorcycle page is up to 6,000+ likes now, and it is super active for every post.  If you have any niches, I recommend getting niche facebook pages.

Ashley,
Whats the URL for  your motorcycle niche facebook page so that we can check it out?

We are still running our daily ad, but I really have to give credit to the posts for drumming up the activity.
