Dear all,
As part of my Smarter Cities? project, I am looking for 3 MA students to conduct work on various aspects of smart cities, security and surveillance in Canada over the next 3 years. Each MA student would receive $14,000 per annum worth of funding and access
to further funds for travel and research.
I will taking on 1 or 2 students in the coming year (starting September 2015) , and 1 or 2 students the year after (2016) for this project. If you are (or have) a talented, top-level Canadian or Canadian-based undergraduate interested in surveillance,
security and urban studies, coming to the end of your degree, please get in touch with me (personally, not via this list) to discuss the options.
Please note that while my backing would be an advantage, you would have to apply and be accepted for the 2-year MA program in Sociology at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, which I cannot guarantee! I am particularly
keen to encourage women, people of colour and indigenous scholars to apply.
David.
