Pattern.py ( http://www.clips.ua.ac.be/pages/pattern ) is a web mining
module for the Python programming language.
It bundles tools for data retrieval (Google + Twitter + Wikipedia API,
web spider, HTML DOM parser), text analysis (rule-based shallow parser,
WordNet interface, syntactical + semantical n-gram search algorithm,
tf-idf + cosine similarity + LSA metrics) and data visualization (graph
networks).
The module is bundled with 30+ example scripts.
NodeBox ( http://www.cityinabottle.org/nodebox/ ) for OpenGL is a free,
cross-platform library for generating 2D animations with Python
programming code. It is built on Pyglet and adopts the drawing API from
NodeBox for Mac OS X (http://nodebox.net). It has built-in support for
paths, layers, motion tweening, hardware-accelerated image effects,
simple physics and interactivity.
Please prepare for the workshop by installing Python and the necessary
complements *before* the workshop.
