Toggle menu open's but doesn't close

Hi have used a Bootstrap menu with this template on a number of occasions without too much trouble.

On this occasion I have used to same set up but with RSevents from RSJoomla installed. The menu toggle (visible below 767px width) will change class to "in collapse" but clicking the button again will not revert this. Interestingly normally the class would be changed to "collapse in", so the other way around.

Strangely on pages generated by the RSevents extension the toggle works correctly, though it does open other toggled items on the page where they exist.
