Congrats to all Patriots fans ! That was a great Superbowl game !
Here’s an update to the $3500.00 that we donated as Relief Assistance to the victims of typhoon Nina.
The following are excerpts from the attached copy of Facebook Messenger’s communications between Blair Dimaano (our primary coordinator of MI Inc.’s aid to the displaced victims of typhoon in Marinduque) and me.
I. Equitable distribution to indigent victims of all 6 towns –
9 Beneficiaries per town. Identification of beneficiaries is through the assigned contact person from the 6 Municipalities:
Boac: Ninay Festin +63 918 985 8818 and Bella Dimaano +63 949 637 0694
Torrijos: Mrs Rosalinda Diaz (Prinicipal, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School - Torrijos)
Gasan: Raiza Iturralde 63 917 683 0722
Mogpog: Kap Reret Leyco (Punong Brgy Gitnang Bayan)
Sta Cruz: Fr Ian Retardo (Parish Priest, Marcopper)
Buenavista: Fr Jovel Luna (Parish Priest, Buenavista)
II. Documents to be provided by the victims in exchange for a VOUCHER, where to submit, point person, and deadlines -
Victim has to provide the following:
- Certificate of Indigency signed by Brgy Captain
- Proof or any documentation of the extent of damage to property – must be signed by the Brgy Captain
- Photos of damaged house or property
- Family Information sheet
- Photocopy of IDAll applications and documents should be submitted to Sun Shop, Festin Ancestral House, Brgy San Miguel, Boac Marinduque.

Evaluation of documents and preparation of final list of beneficiaries must be complete by week 2 of Feb.
Vouchers will be given upon evaluation and approval of application. All beneficiaries will be notified re. the process and schedule of distribution. Target Distribution date is week 3 of February in time for the Valentine’s Day.
III. Distribution / Delivery of Construction Materials /Costs including transportation –
Distribution of materials will happen for 2 days - Feb 18,19 Sat & Sat (Tentative)
We will hire a Jeepney/Truck for 2 days that will deliver the materials at the doorstep or brgy of the beneficiaries:
1 trip will cover the towns of Gasan, Buenavista and Torrijos.
2nd trip will cover the towns of Boac, Mogpog and Sta Cruz
A representative from Tulong Marinduque will accompany the vehicle during the distribution to document to handing over of materials.
Estimated cost:
Transportation Php 4000 (2000/day)
Manpower: Php 1000
Food: Php 500
Total : Php 5500
Budget will come from the excess amount if we will stick with the original plan to lock in 9 families per town:
Proposed Budget:
Amount of Donation per victim - $ 3,000 – Php 174,300 (based on Jan 28 conversion)
Cost/Budget of construction materials per beneficiary - 174,300/3000 = 58.1
Allocation per town: 9 beneficiaries
Total cost of relief assistance for 54 beneficiaries: Php 162,000
174,300 – 162,000 = 12,300
Total delivery cost= 5,500
Excess amount = 6800 (This can be converted into 2 vouchers) These 2 extra vouchers may be given to the town of Boac or Sta. Cruz.
Attached also is a Word documents with pictures of the damage wreaked by the typhoon, the Estimated No. of families affected: 52,000, Estimated Damage to Agriculture: P1,530,275,775.00, Estimated Damage to Infrastructure: P124,110,000.00, some donations from NGOs, and donation from the city of Makati.

Hi, to all,
Delighfully great news to all of you, generous, charitable and lovely people from Marinduque – Marinduquenos Worldwide Helping Marinduquenos !
To date, MI, Inc. will be donating $3,500.00 to indigent victims of typhoon Nina. This amount will be equitably distributed to all six (6) towns or nine (9) families per town. Joy Gomez, MI Treasurer will give our donation to Elan Go who owns the biggest hardware store in Marinduque. The Parish in each town will provide the list of indigent victims (possessing a Certificate of Indigency). Blair Dimaano will provide nine vouchers to each of these Parishes. The victims will then present the voucher to Elan Go’s hardware store in Boac to collect the following materials: 4 pcs of GI Sheet12, 3 pcs of marine plywood ¼”, ½ kilo Umbrella nails, and 1 kilo CW nails in various sizes worth P2997.50. Blair will talk to Elan on: (1) the delivery of these construction materials to the victims - cost, where, and when, and (2) collect any excess money, depending on the exchange rate, that should be given to the victims for transportation or food.
The $3, 500.00 came from: Coffer of MI, Inc - $1,000.00, MACUSA - $1,000.00 , MASC - $1,000.00, and MASTEGS- $500.00. Thank you MACUSA, MASC, and MASTEGS. MABC (Vancouver) will hold a meeting this Sunday and will advise us about their donation. MANC? MCA? East Coast? Ontario, CA? SMAKSA?
