I am having trouble opening .raw files from Xcalibur 2.0.7 in Mass++. When I try to open an Xcalibur .raw file I get the error message, "It failed to open the file." The files were created in Xcalibur 2.0.3 but open without problems in Xcalibur 2.0.7, the only issue is with Mass++. Other .raw files from MassLynx will open, so this appears to be an issue with Xcalibur only. I installed Xcalibur after I installed Mass++, but I removed and reinstalled Mass++ after that so that shouldn't be a problem. The Xcalibur program files are at the same level of my C: drive as the program files for MassLynx and Shimadzu LabSolutions, so that's not the issue. I would appreciate any help I could get with this. Thank you.

Thank you for using Mass++.

MSFileReader provided by Thermo is required to read .raw file of
XCalibur.
It can be downloaded from the following website:

http://sjsupport.thermofinnigan.com/public/detail.asp?id=703

By the way, The new version of Mass++ (Mass++ 2.0.0) will be released
soon.
We are preparing for it now.

Please check the following website about two weeks later:

Dear all,

Hello. I recently began LC-MS/MS experiments, and I installed Mass++ v2.7.2.
I need to read .raw files from Thermo Xcaliber spectrometer, so I downloaded the MSFileReader, but I cannot understand how to add this plug-in to Mass++. Do I have to create some XML files or something, like developing a new plug-in?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hello,

 Mass++ has the plug-in for reading Xcalibur data.
So you can open it without developing another plug-in,
if you installed the MSFileReader.

 You can open the Xcalibur raw data with the following steps:
   1. Select [File] > [Import] > [Raw data].
      Then the "Select Files" dialog appears.
   2. Select the .raw file and click the [Open] button.

 Then the structure of raw data and TIC (Total Ion Chromatogram) are displayed.

Best regards,
