Register today for the annual Gompers-Murray-Meany Educational conference in Falmouth May 24-26.
We have never seen a US presidency in its first 100 days so disorganized and overwhelmed by controversy. At the same time, the threats to the labor movement – and democracy – have never been so great.
This year at Gompers presenters will explore the big issues that are causing shock waves, and also look at what is happening behind the scenes to worker rights, immigration, tax policy and more. How should labor navigate this new landscape? How do we stay united and win?
Featuring Right to Work: How to get ready, survive and come out stronger.

Contact Your State Representative Today, Tell Them To Support These 2 Critical Amendments
GIC Out of Pocket Expenses are Out of Control
Earlier this year, the Group Insurance Commission approved changes to co-pays and deductibles for GIC health plans that, as of July 1st, will shift nearly $150 million in out-of-pocket costs to employees.
We need to send a clear message that the unfair practice of burden shifting onto workers is not equivalent to problem solving. This amendment would prevent those who need the most care from going broke trying to pay for it, by capping yearly out-of-pocket expenses at $2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families. Request your State Rep. to co-sponsor and speak out in support of “Limiting GIC Out-of-Pocket Expenses” filed by Representative Paul Mark
Increase Worker Voice on the Group Insurance Commission
A major reason why health costs have been disproportionately shifted onto public sector workers has been the lack of adequate voice for active and retired employees on the Group Insurance Commission, where important decisions impacting the cost and quality of healthcare are made.
Amendment #745 filed by Representative Cullinane, would create a more equal balance on the Commission by adding an additional seat for a worker representative. Ask your State Rep. to support this amendment today.
