Dear friends,
We are writing to invite you to a special summer mobilization July 14th - July 18th.
As you know, Massachusetts is poised to make some big decisions about the future of energy in our state that will have profound impacts on our contributions to the climate crisis.
In the wake of Kinder Morgan’s decision to suspend their unwanted pipeline, the time is ripe to double down on the pressure to stop Kinder Morgan’s evil brother, Spectra Energy, which is trying to force a number of pipeline projects through the state.
From July 14th to July 18th, we will march through affected communities along the route of Spectra’s proposed pipeline projects, stopping construction alongside Resist the Pipeline in West Roxbury on the way to our ultimate destination: the Massachusetts State House.
We’ll arrive at the State House some two weeks before the end of the legislative cycle with a clear message to legislators and Governor Baker: Stop the pipelines, or the people will!
The reality of the climate crisis has never been clearer. 2016 has been the hottest year on record, and temperatures just keep climbing. But it finally feels like the world is waking up. All over the globe, people are taking bold, dramatic action and putting their bodies on the line for climate justice. This summer, we’ll be among them.
We’ll deepen our relationships to one another, and the movement. We’ll build the skills we need to keep fighting. And we’ll show our leaders once and for all that if they don’t do what’s necessary to stop climate change, we will.
Join us for all of it, join us for some of it, or support it. Sign up here to learn more, and mark your calendars. This will be a march to remember!
Onward and upward,
