Subject: [Critic-l] CEPA Open House!! (AKA connect with bad ass student organizers!)
To: crit...@sbs.umass.edu

Hello beauties!

Do you want to learn how to apply your STPEC  theory to the real world and fight for social change? Then come and check out the Center for Education Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) this Friday (10/4) at our Open House!

CEPA is the best place on campus for students to learn how to do grassroots organizing. We fight against a myriad of issues facing students at UMass (and we also work on issues across the country through our national student networks), including:
  • student debt and the rising cost of higher ed
  • rape culture and gender rights
  • racial justice and diversity issues
  • worker rights
  • student control over student space
  • and anything else pertaining to student rights
More broadly, we fight the privatization of our public university and all of the problems that come along with it. In the past, CEPA has led student strikes, has won back student jobs, has fought for tuition/fee freezes (such as this year!), and many other successful campaigns. Come check us out and see how you (or your organization) can get involved and fight for students with us! Also, there will be an after party....come to the Open House for details. ;)

CEPA Open House: This Friday 10/4 from 1-5 pm in 423A Student Union.

Hope to see you there!! :)
