Hi,
I was out in Leyden and Wendell (and vicinity) today and in the
course of looking around, I stopped to look at some elm saplings along
the roadside in each town. I found about 75 Question Mark eggs and a
further 80+ caterpillars, ranging in size from very tiny to small. The
eggs are brilliant green and were all laid on the undersurface or
edges of the leaves. Question Marks often lay eggs one on top of
another, in towers, and I found several of these, the tallest being
six eggs high. I suspect that with the recent large scale migration of
Question Marks, their progeny are probably everywhere elms are.
