Do you want to share your love of butterflies with interested families?
Join us on Saturday, August 9, at the Barbara J. Walker Butterfly Festival at the Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center in Worcester. The event is open to the public from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
This is always a fun way to spend the day, and there are lots of ways you can help out:
- Help with setting up and cleaning up. We usually get started setting up our tables at 11:00 am, and we could use a few extra hands for packing up and returning tables and chairs to storage at the Visitor Center.
- Engaging with families at the MBC table. We answer questions about butterflies and encourage families to join MBC as members or as participants in upcoming field trips.
- Share the butterflies! Butterflies will be flying around the native plants surrounding the visitor center, so we could use some volunteers who can help visitors spot them.
- Activities! Check in with us about other possible activities: coloring sheets, games, or anything else that might engage young minds. Or just bring some crayons!
If you're not able to volunteer, just bring yourself, your family and friends and neighbors to join the fun! The more the merrier, and it's a great way to spend the afternoon. A small admission fee benefits Mass Audubon.
