Greetings Butterfly Seekers!

Danielle (me) is continuing the epic rare Hessel's Hairstreak Massachusetts butterfly search for 2026, a joint venture between The Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP) of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife and the Massachusetts Butterfly Club (MBC). You do not need to be a member of any organization to help! This is a volunteer project and you can commit as much time as you can to it. Even a ½ hour hike at a site would be really helpful to report the tree health conditions.

If you are not on the mail list or have changed emails please contact me. You will receive around 10-20 emails for the entire project when it ends in July. My role in the Mass. Butterfly Club is to streamline all the data, and compile a huge report for Natural Heritage. Group trips are posted via email and not always on MassLep due to parking and size restrictions on the groups. If you are interested in the search, please let me know and I will send my welcome package!
