here in W. Bridgewater yesterday.

While cleaning up leaves near the back door step, uncovered a splendid 'Giant Leopard moth' ( Hypercompe scribonia) caterpillar probably seaking out a suitable overwinter hiding place. These resemble 'Wooly Bears' except are all black and much larger.
