I took a trip up to Middleboro to the Nemasket River Archaeological Preserve to see if there were any sedge loving butterflies there.  Somewhat surprisingly there were none, but there were several butterflies flying about.

3 Monarchs
3 Clouded Sulphurs (1 white form)
14 Common Wood Nymphs
1 very ragged Tawny-edged Skipper
2 Sachems
3 Cabbage Whites
4 American Coppers
2 Eastern Tailed Blues
4 Pearl Crescents
1 Monarch caterpillar

When I got home to our house in Wareham, I was quite surprised to see a FOY (first of the yard) very fresh Common Ringlet!  I have never seen them here in the yard.  Maybe it got blown in by the windy couple days we had?  We will never know.  It wouldn't tell me.

1 Common Ringlet
4 Monarchs
5 Northern Broken Dash
3 Sachems
2 American Coppers
3 Silver-spotted Skippers
