Today's Massachusetts Butterfly Club walk lead by Tom Gagnon met at the
Dinosaur Footprints with one Clouded Sulphur sighted.

The next stop was little Mt. Tom:

Pearl Crescent 7
SIlver-spotted Skipper 2
Eastern Tailed-Blue 3
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail 5
Juvenal's Duskywing 5
Silvery Blue 1
Red Admiral 1
Cabbage White 3

Also seen were a Scarlet Tanager, a Raven, many Barn Swallows and
Northern Rough-winged Swallows and more.

At this point several participants went on the hike down to the Juniper
Hairstreak spot.  I'll leave it to them to report their findings.

The rest of the group went on to the Montague Sand Plain area:

Dusted Skipper 2
Cobweb Skipper 6
Eastern Tailed-blue 15
Azure 1
Juvenal's Duskywing 50+
Dreamy Duskywing 4
Sleepy Duskywing 1
Wild Indigo Duskywing 10
Black Swallowtail 1
American Copper 16
American Lady 2
Eastern Pine Elfin 4
Clouded Sulphur 8
Cabbage White 1

Also seen and heard were Prairie Warbler, Field Sparrow, Indigo Bunting,
Red-breasted Nuthatch,  Scarlet Tanager, a flock of 15 Red Crossbills,
and more.

Thanks to all!

At the Juniper Grove alongside the Rt.91 billboard we saw:
1 Juniper Hairstreak, which laid an egg on the Eastern Red Juniper while we watched.
3 American Coppers (two of them were mating on a blade of grass
2 American Lady
Approximately 6 or so Dusted Skippers
