Central Mass and points westward 5/25/23 through 5/28/23

Took a road trip (our annual anniversary western mass trip) for a four days this year rather than for just a day or two.  It will be hard to remember EVERYTHING we saw, but I can say that in every single location we saw a red admiral.  Are they having a big flight this year or what?  Last year I saw exactly zero.  

5/25/23 Fannie Stebbins full sun but a bit chilly in the mid 60's

5/27/23 Moran WMA full sun mid 70's

5/28/23 Montague Sand Plains full sun mid 70's
1 Red Admiral
2 Dusted Skippers
3 American Coppers
1 Spicebush Swallowtail
1 Viceroy
5 Juvenal's Duskywings

3 Indian Skippers
3 Cobweb Skippers

5/28/23 Myles Standish State Park full sun low 80's
Went here on the way home to see if there were any Cobweb skippers to be found.  We didn't find any.  This was also the only place we didn't see a red admiral!  We weren't there very long though.

That's a very nice Early Hairstreak - both the butterfly itself and the photo.
