It's likely very first WM moths occurred several
days ago, but last PM I finally took time to go out back, after
a receiving a note from Jeff Boettner that he had set out sticky band
traps here earlier, and discovered that there were indeed a small but
noticeable number of both males and females present. From the tiny
wing 'buds' present on the females, WM is a reliable id from closely
related Bruce Spanworm which lacks these, and will also be present here.
Field mark differences of males are tiny and not always reliable.
