A friend sent me video this morning from Moore State Park of groups of 10+ Checkerspots puddling on what we presume was canine scat in the middle of the trail through the hay field across from the parking lot. She reported that lots of butterflies were out, but the majority were Checkerspots, and she saw at least 24. Attached is a photo of a few that she saw puddling on mud.
It is truly painful to be stuck working indoors all day :-( but it sounds like things are really picking up at Moore State Park if anyone else is interested in checking things out.
