Butterflies in Hardwick and South Deerfield

We're still not getting as many butterflies as expected, considering the large volume of nectar sources and somewhat-wild habitat in our yard.

1 Spicebush swallowtail

1 'Summer' Azure

1 Pearl Crescent

1 Monarch *

2 Silver-spotted Skipper

   * I thought this was the first Monarch for our yard but found two tiny larvae on a somewhat-old milkweed on 7/23.

A couple of large black swallowtails that got away
