August 28. A friend's garden in Northfield, MA
1 big beautiful Great Spangled Fritillary
1 Peck's Skipper
2 Grass skippers, very worn. One of them might have been Tawny-edged?
August 30. Insect walk at the Bog in Carlisle. Alan Ankers may have a more complete list, but it was a pretty good day for insects in general--numbers having been so low all summer.
2 Silver-bordered Fritillary
1 Gray Hairstreak
1 White M - and it was gorgeous. Very fresh, the dorsal side flashing a brilliant blue. Everyone "oohed and ahhed"!
1 Monarch
1 cabbage white
1-2 Clouded Sulphurs
1 American Lady
1 unidentified skipper
Both days the weather was sunny and in the 70's.
