Partial report: 2026-08-08, 19th Barbara J. Walker Butterfly Festival at Broad Meadow Brook

First off, thanks to the volunteers who helped make this event a success for MBC: Calvin Yang, Barbara Volkle and Steve Moore, Lisa Wolfe, Andrew and Lauren Griffith. The day was perfect (hot and sunny) and the ice cream was excellent.

I don't have the details on sightings, but IIRC at least a dozen different species were seen.

We did very well with engagement, especially while using the "Moth or Butterfly?" game. About 50 people played, and over half of them left email addresses to get more information about the club. We also had at least one person who wanted to join on the spot! (we gave them a form and directed them to the NABA membership web page).
