Can the admins please make this list require new subscribers to have
their posts moderated.

I run a few Google groups and they get spammed all the time. It's not
too hard to set moderation on the first post and then allow subsequent
posts to go through without moderation. If you have your spam filters
set up right you need never actually look at the posts from spammers -
it's only the real ones that will reach you for moderation.
