The Massachusetts State Historic Records Advisory Board (MA SHRAB) is pleased to announce an upcoming application period for the Roving Archivist Program’s Strategic Assessment and Program Review grant. Applications will be accepted May 1 – June 1, 2026, with review by the SHRAB in June. Five institutions will be awarded during this grant round.

Funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the Roving Archivist Program provides repositories with no-cost access to a professional archivist for on-site assessment, customized recommendations, and ongoing guidance related to preservation, access, and archival best practices. Typically applicants include historical societies, museums, town clerks, historical commissions, libraries, schools, and other organizations stewarding historical records.

For application details and more information, visit the SHRAB website. Questions may be directed to SH...@sec.state.ma.us.
