To prepare for potential fuel oil shortages and price spikes, the U.S.
Department of Energy created the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve.17
The reserve holds a total of 1 million barrels of ultra-low sulfur
diesel (ULSD) in terminals at three locations in the Northeast, one of
which is the Global Oil terminal located in Revere.1
