New Zealand population is 4.8 million - they have had 28 covid deaths
Massachusetts population is 6.9 million - Massachusetts has had 18,000
covid deaths
4.8X = 6.9 gives X = 1.43
so Massachusetts is 1.43 times larger than NZ
multiplying 28 X 1.43 = 40
if NZ was as large as Mass they would have had 40 deaths
Mass had 18,000 deaths
18,000 / 40 = 450
Bottom line - the Mass death rate was 450 times higher than NZ
