this is the actual entry in the rrdb under nationwide freqs

some of the info is muddled imho

nifc does not have responsibility for disasters ... it has has radios
that FEMA likes to borrow for disasters

the 'air command' / air tac channels are not listed in the 2022 red
book comms chapter ... not sure why ... maybe they are listed in the
aviation chapter of the reebok ... if there is one

in any case ... those air tac channels are probably only used n the
largest fires since most dispatch centers already have air tac
channels assigned for initial attack

as we have explained before .... most or all federal wildfire dispatch
centers have dispatch + firescene + air/ground + air/air channels
reassigned for initial attack ... when a fire moves into a 2nd burning
period; or a TY1 or TY2 team takes over a fire... the oscene freqs are
changed to the NIFC freqs, and the initial attack freqs are released
back to the dispatch center for use on any other fires that start in
the area

this needs to be clearly explained at radio reference somehow
